BRICKWORK / PLATE HEIGHT INSPECTIONS. CHECKS FOR:

  • Quality of brickwork & mortar joints

  • Cracks

  • Positioning and bearing of beams & lintols

  • Roof tie downs & straps

  • Wall tie spacing where visible

  • Level, plumb & square

  • Layout & dimensions of rooms

  • Flashings

  • Cladding

  • Suspended floor structure if visible

  • Compliance with drawings


PRACTICAL COMPLETION. CHECKS FOR:

  • Satisfactory practical completion (this may require a snag list)

  • Stairs & balconies

  • Pergola & decking / paving

  • Site drainage

  • Windows & Glazing

  • Doors

  • Sanitary fixtures

  • Kitchen fixtures

  • Smoke alarms & electrical breakers

  • Plumbing

  • Tiling

  • Ceilings

  • Plastering

  • Roof covering

  • Gutters & downpipes

  • Eaves sheeting, fascias & barges

  • Painting

  • Other fixtures included in contract eg floor coverings

  • Site clean


    NOTE; Roofing components & Brick work inspections are part of ‘staged’ inspections. At practical completion stage, roofing and brick work elements will be covered and inspection of these items restricted. For new work, all 3 stages of inspection is recommended.

  • Compliance

  • Valley & hip & ridge construction

  • Props / struts & collar ties

  • Ceiling joist support

  • Beam bearings

  • Attached tie downs

  • Size & Spacing of timbers

  • Connectors

  • Truss construction

  • Flashings
